About this recording

Pat Ramsay, née Anderson, talks enthusiastically about her very rewarding career in education in both Caithness and Edinburgh. Pat reflects upon the changes and challenges that have occurred during the thirty-six years, when she progressed from probationer teacher to headteacher. In this interview she talks about, “The lucky cards that you are dealt with.”

Pat also says, “We really want to do the best for each and every child and it’s been a very happy and rewarding career.”

Since her early retirement from teaching, Pat has become involved in organising ‘The Caithness Foodbank’ where she has been able to channel her skills and experience.
