About this recording

Befriending Caithness is a voluntary service that aims to reduce isolation and loneliness in the county by matching volunteers to older isolated adults in the Caithness area.

Co-ordinators Angie House and Elspeth Manson recorded a conversation about their lockdown reflections. They explain that Befriending has made a transition from face to face visits to telephone conversations and they talk about the way that befriendees have approached these changes in a stoic and positive manner.

Listen to Angie and Elspeth discuss many aspects and experiences of lockdown, including shopping, clapping for carers, self-isolation and social distancing. They also desribe their transition to online meetings and the necessity to adapt to new technology.
