A Victorian chest of drawers made in Wick by the local firm of McEwen’s. The company had a good reputation for high quality furniture, and this piece, made from rosewood, would have been the pride of its owners.
A McEwan was my great grandfather. The family still have a few items of furniture. My mother aged 86 loved her visit to the Heritage centre a few years ago.i share your updates with her and especially the recordings by local folk. We are currently sorting out lots of old photos and we have some we think you would like so once we have them all we will get them to you. Great work by you all.
