This room is typical of the second decade of the 20th century. Notice the bed cover the stitching in the centre, depicting St Fergus, the Patron Saint of Wick.
Here you will find an example of the quality furniture made by the Wick firm of Alexander McEwen & Sons. Their furniture was highly regarded.
The tiles around the fireplace were purchased by the Henderson Family of Rosebank House Wick for their children’s bedroom during a visit to the Great Exhibition in London in 1851, each tile illustrates a different nursery rhyme.
