Our Parlour hosts a magnificent grandfather clock,made in Wick c1830 in the workshop of John Sellar clock maker and silversmith in Wick.
Alexander Bain, born in the village of Watten, Caithness and inventor of the fax machine and now recognized as the father of modern television was apprenticed to Mr Sellar in this period and may well have worked on this very clock.
