About this recording

Denis Mann reflects upon his time at Edinburgh College of Art where he specialised in glass engraving and was taught and inspired by Helen Munro Turner. Denis was born in Perthshire and went on to become an art teacher in Stirlingshire. In this interview he tells of his decision to give up teaching to relocate to Caithness to become an artist engraver and designer at Caithness Glass. He recounts the adventurous journey north when he began to question - What have I done? He describes some of the commissions he designed while working at Caithness Glass and in particular the Mastermind trophies. He goes on to talk about being a founding director of North Lands Creative Glass.
