About this recording
Christine Davidson taught at Wick North Primary School for 44 years and so is well known to generations of former pupils. In this interview she talks about growing up in Gersa (using slates in the local school), the outbreak of war in 1939, her training as a teacher and her first jobs in the profession. She also looks back at Operation Snowdrop, which occurred while she was teaching in Lybster. Christine is one of the longest-serving Scottish Women's Institute members in the country, having joined when she was 14.
