About this recording

Margaret Mackay was born in Glasgow but aged eighteen months survived the Blitz. Here she tells the story through the eyes of her big sister who protected her on that dreadful night. Margaret goes on to talk about their evacuation from Glasgow and the family’s subsequent journey north to Wick. The family returned to Glasgow after the War but Margaret and her parents eventually settled in Wick in the 1950s.
