Boat Logs 2007
May - Launched for 2007 season. During the winter the Boat Section
volunteers designed and installed hydraulic steering and fitted a
traditional ship’s wheel. The old ‘tiller’ has been adapted and
retained for emergency use.
1 June - Visited Nairn Harbourfest and was open to visitors.
22/24 June - Played a prominent part in Wick Harbourfest 07 and led
the Moray Firth Flotilla from Wick, under sail, on the first leg of its
week-long voyage to ports around the Firth. Over 1000 visitors on the
23 June.
24/25 June - Visited Lybster – Welcomed visitors and school children.
25/26 June - Visited Helmsdale and received a great welcome from the people of the town.
27/28 June - Invergordon
28 June - Buckie Harbour. Reception in the Royal British legion.
Left during the evening to prepare for the Royal visit. BBC Radio
recorded interviews on board during the trip to Portsoy
29 June - Portsoy - Traditional Boat Festival – Visited by HRH The Duke of Wessex.
30 June 1 July - Welcomed over 900 visitors and gained two awards.
One for the best dressed vessel and the Memorial Plate for the best
welcome.
2-5 July - Whitehills harbour
5 July - Returned home to Wick after an eventful and successful Flotilla.
